Palm Treo Pro Arrives on the Vodafone New Zealand Network

Palm has announced that the Treo Pro will be available on the Vodafone New Zealand network. The Treo Pro is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, and has key built-in features such as WiFi, GPS and more.

The device is one of the nicest and thinnest Treo’s I’ve seen to-date, no doubt Palm has and is doing everything they can to push more devices these days. The Treo Pro is a valiant effort. The high-res screen is quite nice, and a full QWERTY keyboard helps you punch out those quick business messages. One of the things I appreciate quite a bit about the device is the removable battery that offers up to five hours of talk time per charge. Seeing as I’m currently using the iPhone 3G, my kingdom for a removable battery knows no end.

More key features of the Palm Treo Pro:

  • One-touch WiFi button
  • Today screen enhancements
  • New voicemail indicator (the center button flashes)
  • Ringer switch silences the device immediately
  • Screen saver lets users know at a glance without turning on the device, the time, if they’ve missed any calls or messages
  • Email and calendar buttons
  • Integrated GPS
  • World phone with high-speed UMTS/HSDPA network capabilities

Congrats to New Zealand’s mobile crowd, as they now have another device to spend their hard-earned money on. Lets hope the reception and sales of the device are better than the usual lack-lustre performances Palm has been having for the past few years.
