What do you get when you combine special QR codes with augmented reality? QAR (Quick Augmented Reality) codes that are readable by an app called browsAR.

Available as a free download for iOS and Android-based devices, the application reads these special codes and turns them to Facebook profiles on the fly — check out the image above to see what I mean.

Gravity Jack developed this app along with an online tool that lets anyone create these QAR codes that link to their respective Facebook profiles.

Of course browsAR can also “handle” regular QR codes, but that’s not the point here – QAR codes are awesome not only because they show content in real-time, but also because they offer interactivity, allowing users to quickly add people they meet to their Facebook friends.

In addition — and also as part of the plan to push adoption of QAR codes — Gravity Jack is also offering the option for users to order a custom t-shirt featuring their personal Facebook QAR code. Neat! 🙂
