Dijit remote control app for iPad launches today

Dijit, a media navigation app with a slew of features, today announced its plans to release a universal version of the app with iPad support. The app brings in some pretty cool functionality, which allows users to navigate what’s on TV, manage and share what they’re watching on Facebook and Twitter, manage their Netflix queues, and use their mobile device as a universal remote with Roku or Griffin Beacon. Additionally, the remote control app brings touch and swipe gestures to simplify changing channels and volume.

The universal remote app is the perfect software for folks who obsess over hooking up their home theater system, as Dijit offers support for multiple systems in different rooms or homes. There are no bulky cases or dongles, no messy wires or cables included. The only negative with this app is it only works if you have a Griffin Beacon IR blaster or a compatible Roku device.

If you’re interested in turning your iPad into a 9.7-inch remote control, you can snatch Dijit from the App Store now. And don’t worry, the app is free, which is a lot better than the $79.99 price tag it first début with almost two years ago.
