RedFiveLabs has released a new version of its .NET for Symbian solution, Net60 2.0, to allow developers to use existing tools (Visual Studio) when making apps for the platform.

Here’s what’s new in version 2.0:

  • Obviously, the main “feature” added is Compact Framework 2.0 support, including support for generics.
  • Managed access to the camera
  • A new paddle game (breakout implementation) which demonstrates use of the accelerometer API
  • Self Sign capabilities in the Genesis Visual Studio plug-in. Users no longer need supply a UID or Symbian Certificate.

For the future releases, RedFiveLabs wowed to include S60 Touch support. Until then, you can grab Net60 2.0 Pro for 459 EUR for a single user and 250 deployments. The Premium subscription includes support, upgrades and 1000 deployments. A free 30-day trial is also available, after supplying an IMEI number and email address…
