Mobile World Congress, the largest wireless exhibition on the fact of the planet, is set to kick off in just two weeks. We’ll be there trying to cover the glut of smartphone and tablet announcements, of course, but thanks to Pocketnow our job may have just gotten a whole lot easier. Apparently they just got their hands on Nokia’s MWC announcements. Here’s what they say will be there: First, the Nokia Lumia 900 that’s meant for the global market. We think it’ll be called the Lumia 910, will feature a 12 megapixel camera, but will ship without 4G LTE support. Second, the Lumia 610, which is said to be an entry level device. We think it’ll be running Windows Phone Tango, the version of Windows Phone that’s meant for devices that’ll primarily be targeted towards the Indian and Asian market. Third, the Nokia 808 PureView, suppoedly the successor to the Nokia N8. We’ve been calling it the Nokia 803 for a few months now, and even have a rough idea of what it’ll look like, but this new “808 PureView” model name is something we’re only now hearing about. And finally devices four, five, and six: the Asha 202, 203, and 302. They’ll be updates to the Asha feature phones that Nokia announced back at Nokia World in October 2011.
The leaks don’t stop there however. The folks at Pocketnow say that Nokia is going to release an updated version of the Lumia 710 called the Lumia 730. What’s the difference between the two? The 730 is said to pack an 8 megapixel camera and support for 4G LTE. According to our sources, this device is legit and will be coming out on Verizon at some point in early Q2 2012; likely April.
Should you believe any of this? That’s up to you. Some folks think speculating is fun! But seriously, two Windows Phones, one Symbian phone, and three feature phones … that sounds about right.
