Hero Academy has been taking a lot more of my spare time than I originally anticipated as the game is perfect in its ability to keep players engaged for small moments at a time. There have been times when I have been woken up from a deep sleep to the chime of it being my turn, opening one eye to command my units, and then going to back sleep. Some might call it an addiction, but I call it a necessity and Hero Academy is about to get better come February 22nd.
One of the first updates the game will be receiving next week is a new Dwarven team to command which will be available for in-app purchase for $1.99, which is priced $1 more than the current expansion team, theDark Elves. According to the information released by the developers on the Dwarves, not only are they best used for area attacks, but they also gain improved bonuses from the premium squares located on the battlefield.
Game Center support will also be made available in next week’s update as players will be able to compare scores with one another through leaderboards and brag as they unlock achievements. No word yet if players will be able to initiate games through Game Center’s multiplayer or if Robot Entertainment will keep all of the multiplayer games taking place within the Hero Academy app.
