Verizon Wireless has recently launched the Novatel Wireless-made USB760 Micro Modem via business sales channels. The new pocket-sized wireless broadband modem is made to work with the carrier’s high-speed EV-DO Rev. A network, and comes with all required software for installation for both PC and Mac computers right on the device itself. The trick is in the built-in microSD card slot, which supports microSD cards of up to 8GB and which consequently doubles the modem’s functionality making it work as a flash drive, too.
It’s also worth mentioning that the USB760 Micro Modem features an internal advanced dual-band diversity antenna, as well as an optional external antenna for enhanced performance on the fringe areas of networks and in highly mobile environments. NovaSpeed software helps optimize performance and enables simultaneous uploads and downloads at significantly enhanced speeds.
As for the transfer rate, users should expect average download speeds between 600 kbps and 1.4 mbps, and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps.
The USB760 Micro Modem is available for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year agreement.
