Samsung S-Cloud service launching in August?

Samsung is working on its cloud service and is set to launch it at some point in August. Dubbed S-Cloud, it will combine several (if not all) Samsung apps and services, allowing synchronization between multiple devices and the cloud.

Initially, the Korean company used its own subsidiary, Samsung SDS, to develop infrastructure but the end result turned out to be unsuitable for global market.

Now Samsung Media Solution Center (SMSC) is looking to adopt some of the commercially available solutions and has apparently already contacted KT and other virtualization and software companies. Moreover, the rumor is that for some parts of the service Samsung will rely on Amazon’s infrastructure.

Now we don’t care that much about Sammy’s infrastructure partners but still like to read how thoroughly they’re approaching the development of a cloud service. Hopefully the end result will rock…
