MWC 2012: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 gets real

Not that it was much of a surprise but Samsung made the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet official at Mobile World Congress 2012.

Like its younger brother – the Note – the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be able to use that S Pen and I feel like the extra real estate could make this more useful than on the phablet. There’s also no middle ground with the Note 10.1, as it’s definitely a tablet. It runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz on top and you can expect a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM inside.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 will be available in multiple storage options including 16, 32 and 64 GB. Samsung said it will support HSPA+ and WiFi but don’t be surprised to see a 4G LTE version if this thing is a success. It appears like the company will keep the Tab lineup as well, and the Note series will be any device that uses that S Pen.

We’re on the ground in Barcelona fighting jetlag and traffic but we’ll have some hands-on time with this bad boy as soon as possible.
