Archos produces a variety of tablets and soon several of its mid-range models will get an update to Ice Cream Sandwich. The first tablet to get the ICS update will be the G9 series of tablets including the Archos 80 G9 and the Archos 101 G9. Both the Classic and Turbo models will get the update. This update is available now and should hit tablets soon. Eligible devices will receive a notification about an over-the-air update.
According to Archos’s release notes, the ICS update will bring an improved web browser, new application drawer, home screen folders, improved text input, resizable widgets and more. The Archos G9 is a Google certified device which means it’ll also be updated to Android Play, formerly Android Market.
