So you plan to grab the brand new iPad the second it’s out? If you need a special in-wall mount to hold it while you’re not surfing, checking email, photos or whatever you happen to do on your tablet – check out Bracketron’s iRoom iDock. This isn’t a device for everyone; rather it’s made for folks who don’t mind paying $600 or more (up to $1600) for the privilege.
Available in portrait and landscape models, the iRoom iDock comes in Power over Ethernet (PoE) and 110V models and is described as an “elegant solution” for in-wall docking and control in private homes, hotels, yachts, restaurants, hospitals, boardrooms, retailers and more.
The built-in (and patented) motorized docking system makes it so special, opening and closing the iDock to securely store the iPad. This mechanism is activated by a one-touch proximity sensor that recognizes when you are nearby and switches the iDock to the open position allowing you to insert your iPad. The proximity sensor can also be disabled to lock the iPad in place.
In a nutshell, it’s a fancy product for selected few. That said, we’re sure there’s still enough folks with a ton of money to make this a profitable venture for Bracketron…
