We’ve already talked about PaymentOne in the past. Now they’re rebranding to PayOne, while keeping its core strength – allowing “no credit card required” carrier billing for digital commerce. Along with a new logo, there’s a whole new look, new website and the new simplified One-Click mobile payments platform.
Speaking of One-Click payments, PayOne says their solution is the “simplest way to pay over any connected device.” The company has relationships with more than 1,000 carriers all around the world, leveraging its deep integrations and patented mobile payment and authentication technology to deliver the goods.
And by goods they don’t just mean support for virtual currency and simple mobile content. Rather, PayOne can also be integrated at a point of purchase, such as parking meters, billboards, tickets, vending and QR codes…
Our take: PayOne definitely has what it takes to attract developers on its side. Whether they’ll succeed is a different story. At the moment I’m writing this, they do have a number of companies on board; however the critical mass is still not there. This year could easily be the one for the whole industry. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bigger company acquiring PayOne…
