A month ago Motorola unveiled its Android 4.0 upgrade plans without mentioning two of its devices – Motoluxe and Motorola Pro+, the second one being a pretty solid choice for BlackBerry converts who can’t live without a physical QWERTY keyboard.

Now they’re telling us those two devices are in the “Evaluation & Planning” phase, the fact that doesn’t reveal much since “some products that enter the Evaluation and Planning phase may not complete the upgrade cycle.” In other words, they’re determining whether there’s enough horse-power under the hood to make Ice Cream Sandwich run smoothly. Additionally, I guess they’re also checking the sales figures to determine whether there are enough users out there. No one likes the bad press, and by not releasing software updates, handset makers accumulate the bad mojo.

Finally if you’re wondering which Moto devices won’t get the ICS update, the list includes such models as the Motorola Defy Mini, Defy+ and Milestone 2, all of which will remain on Gingerbread…
