O2 UK says the HTC One X will be on store shelves in less than 3 weeks

British operator O2 has tweeted that they’ll start selling HTC’s newest flagship, the One X, on the 5th of April; that’s less than 3 weeks away! Just to recap, HTC announced the One X on February 26th and said it would on the market within 60 days. If O2’s tweet is legit, then they’ve most certainly achieved their goal. So what’s going to make the One X special anyway? Starting with the screen, it’s 4.7 inches diagonal and puts out 1280 x 720 pixels. It uses second generation Super LCD technology, which you really have to see to believe. The viewing angles are absolutely ridiculous. Under the hood there’s a quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, which officially makes the HTC One X the first quad core device to be released this year. We don’t know how well it’ll perform, both in terms of benchmarks and battery life, so that’s most definitely going to be one of the first things we test. And finally there’s an 8 megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens and a dedicated image processing chip. HTC says it’s going to be their best camera yet, and we look forward to comparing it to the iPhone 4S and Nokia N8. How much will O2 charge for this beast? That hasn’t been announced … yet.

The bigger question, or at least the more relevant question for the vast majority of our readers, is when will the One X come to America and what horrible things will AT&T do the software? We don’t even have any rumors to share, so your guess is as good as ours. It should be noted however that America’s One X is going to be slightly different than Europe’s One X. Gone is the quad core Tegra 3 processor, instead it’s going to be replaced by a dual core Qualcomm S4. That swap will enable the American One X to have 4G LTE, so it’s not all bad news.

What is bad news though is that Qualcomm’s S4 might be delayed according to a rumor we reported earlier this month. That’s unfortunate, but that’s why there are plenty of online stores that’ll gladly import the One X for you, albeit at a premium.
