Springpad, which we know as Evernote’s arch-rival, is now in version 3.0, promising to make it even easier to share, discover and “act” on notes “with the help of those you trust.”

The main new thing of this release is the ability to make sense of the real-time web services — Springpad 3.0 is touted to go beyond the real-time paradigm and “give users control over when they discover information.” This in turn helps users access that information when they’re ready for it not just when it’s shared with them.

In addition, the new Springpad allows users to easily create and share notebooks with content in any form, whether we’re talking about recipes, books, movies, products, links, notes or tasks. And thanks to the new explore section, you can find and follow notebooks of interest from other Springpad members…

All in all, if you have time and still haven’t found the right note-taking service, give Springpad a try. As far as I’m concerned, I appreciate all the effort Springpad folks are making, but for now I’ll be sticking to Evernote. 😉
