Booking.com is launching what it says is the world’s first global last-minute hotel app for iPhone. In comparison, Hotel Tonight and Hotel Negotiator are focused on the U.S. market only, while Booking.com also covers other markets, including London, Hong Kong and Dubai.

The application is expectedly very easy to use. One tap retrieves all the available hotels in the immediate area, including those special last-minute deals. Hotels are booked through a streamlined two-step booking process, with Booking.com Tonight immediately contacting the hotel and automatically saving the booking confirmation to your iPhone. Moreover, the application will also provide you with maps for getting from your current location to the hotel.

Finally, in case you wonder, Booking.com’s database has more than 200,000 hotels and other accommodations spread across 165 countries. In 2011, Booking.com’s customers completed more than $1 billion in transactions on mobile devices.

So are you willing to try out Booking.com’s new mobile app? Or you don’t care that much about last-minute hotel booking?
