Paragon Software released a new software called PenReader Touch for Windows Mobile, bringing advanced multilingual handwriting recognition to the platform. However, the idea here is not to provide users with yet another input application that relies on stylus — rather PenReader Touch allows users to write with their fingertips, without any additional training or handwriting adjustment. Or at least that’s the official story.
Some of the PenReader Touch features include:
- Fast and exact recognition of 30 languages: Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, French, Finnish, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish symbols.
- High-quality handwriting recognition engine that immediately recognizes letters; numbers (Arabic numbers, included); standard, arithmetic and punctuation symbols; several gestures that fully duplicate main keyboard functions (shift, backspace, etc.).
- Customizable handwriting style which helps to recognize text more accurately and faster, just choose a convenient way of writing various symbols in the “Copy-book” menu.
- Fast recognition of pen strokes from any application window. PenReader Touch recognizes text written anywhere on the screen and pastes it to the current cursor position.
- Options for pen width and ink color let the user customize the interface in accordance with the user’s taste. Multilingual interface is presented in English and Russian.
