SA Studios Global and MetroPCS unveiled the Huawei M835 Sanctioned by tokidoki, a special-edition Android handset designed by the Japanese-inspired cult apparel and accessory brand tokidoki.

In recent years, tokidoki’s cult status has fueled high-profile collaborations with Karl Lagerfeld, New Era, Hello Kitty, Levi’s, Smashbox cosmetics, Xbox, Skullcandy and others. So it’s no surprise that art collectors (and now mobile operators) around the world are jumping on this “ultimate collaboration.”

Unfortunately though, tokidoki branding doesn’t make the Huawei M835 any better. It’s still an entry-level Android smartphone with specs that include a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, rather slow processor, 3G (EV-DO), Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and a microSD memory card slot.

And before I let you go, we have a short video to share, showing the making of a Huawei M835 Sanctioned by tokidoki commercial.
