Sprint's HTC EVO 4G LTE launching on May 18th?

File this under “rumors” cause this doesn’t come from the official channels. However, we do believe Sprint wants to hurry with its LTE network launch and to offer some solid devices to its users.

Apparently, Now Network will launch its version of the HTC One X, EVO 4G LTE, on May 18th, with interested folks being able to grab the powerful smartphone both online and across Sprint’s retail stores.

We did manage to get our hands on the device and we like it… a lot. If you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, you should know that the HTC One X (and its variants) is arguably the best Android smartphone released to date (and we’ll see whether the Samsung Galaxy S III will change that).

Meanwhile, AT&T will start selling the One X on May 6th, almost two weeks before Sprint does the same thing. However, Sprint will start taking pre-orders on May 7th, hoping that many folks don’t care to be among the first ones with the latest gadget around…
