Samsung has released an Android app called “SAMSUNG mobile UNPACKED 2012“. It’s basically a direct channel to Samsung’s marketing people for hardcore phone geeks who want to know everything about what the South Korean handset will announce during their press conference on May 3rd in London. We’re not joking, the app will feature press releases, photos, and it’ll even let rapid fans live stream the event should they not be fortunate enough to attend. One thing Samsung “accidentally” screwed up can be seen at the bottom of the description of the app. More specifically:

That’s called SEO optimization in a nutshell, and we’re kind of surprised that Samsung didn’t throw in a few “Galaxy S III” search queries in there. Will the next Galaxy be called the S3 instead of the more elegant S III? We’ll find out in roughly 10 days.
So what do we know about the next Galaxy anyway? All we have right now are rumors, so take the following spec sheet with a grain of salt: The screen will measure 4.65 inches across, just like the screen on the Galaxy Nexus, except that it’s not going to use PenTile. The processor inside will be made by Samsung, will be built on a 32 nanometer process, and will have four ARM Cortex A9 cores. The cellular radio inside will support 4G LTE. And that’s it.
All the “images” you’ve seen of the Galaxy S III on the internet are fakes. According to multiple sources, Samsung pulled an Apple, by that we mean they shoved the new Galaxy into a fake body so that engineers testing it out in the wild can do so without getting too much attention.
Make no mistake, this is easily one of the most anticipated devices of 2012.
