Samsung has officially announced the availability of the Galaxy S Advance in the UK. The device that sits somewhere between the original Galaxy S and Galaxy S II rocks a 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA touchscreen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 14.4Mbps HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing one, 768MB of RAM, 4 or 8 GB of built-in storage, and a memory card slot.

The Korean company said the phone will be available from Phones 4U and Vodafone, though it’s safe to bet you’ll be able to grab it through other third-party retailers with a contract from pretty much any mobile network.

The problem, however, is that we’re just few days from the day when the next Galaxy smartphone (Galaxy S III) will be announced and will make Galaxy S Advance (and many other smartphones for that matter) look like a collectible’s item.

In case you don’t need the very best smartphone out there, this little fella’ will do the job just fine. And you’ll be able to get it for free on contracts starting at about 20 GBP per month…
