Good news for Galaxy Nexus owners with either Sprint’s or Verizon’s contract as both carriers have either started or are getting ready to roll-out new software updates for their particular version of the Google phone.

Verizon Wireless has apparently already started pushing Android 4.0.4 update (build IMM76K) to select users, with folks all around Interwebs reporting receiving new software. It is unclear what’s included in this release, though we guess some things have been tweaked, bugs are squashed and so on.

Meanwhile, Sprint promises to push software version FD02 to all devices “within a 1-2 day period.” The main thing this firmware tries to address is the problem users had with connecting the device to the Now Network, with Galaxy Nexus sometimes not even displaying the correct network after activation. In addition, Google Wallet will get an update, though we’re not sure what’s included there. Finally, Sprint says you must connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi network to get the new software…

Needless to say, make sure your battery is full before hitting the update button. Good luck! 😉
