We’re still at the BlackBerry World 2012 conference and CEO Thorsten Heins addressed the media about the company’s need for a “laser focus.” While we covered the main beats of his nearly 45-minute long talk with the media, we were also live-tweeting the event.

If you missed it, we’ve pulled in some of the more important tweets below and as always, be sure to follow @IntoMobile on Twitter for up-to-the-minute updates on the latest in the mobile world.

We’re live from #BBWC and RIM CEO Thorsten Heins is going to be speaking in about half an hour. Watch this space for live updates.

Heins: Part of the change I’m driving at RIM is engaing more with the stake holders around us. That includes press, analysts #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

Heins: RIM grew so quickly it became easy to lose focus. They’re spending a lot of time figuring out who the target customer of RIM is #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

Heins: RIM will not be leaving the consumer business. “absolutely not true” #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: I want to build a powerful computing engine and then augment that with consumer-focused services like games, apps #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: “It’s clear that we have a little fat on the hips” they need to get leaner and meaner. I.E. look for layoffs soon #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: Making decisions by consensus doesn’t really scale #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: He’s working on bringing in a chief marketing officer to let the company have clear branding, precise messaging #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: What you’re seeing from “open OS camps” (Android makers) is that you can’t differentiate #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: Quality matters. I want this BB10 experience to be perfect. The “flow” is important, as apps will fully run in the background #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: Just to be clear, we’re not abandoning physical keyboards. We want to be the best typing experience, period. #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: There’s much more to RIM than just handsets. We will be focusing on the enterprise services. Pulling it together #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: We will not have a digital shift from BB7 to BB10. BB7 will be for the entry-level devices (emerging markets) BB10 for all else

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: We have an uphill battle in the U.S. The whole company gets that #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: Licensing BB10 is an option but we’re looking more toward it being a mobile computing for verticals, like cars, etc. #BBWC

— IntoMobile (@IntoMobile) May 2, 2012

RIM CEO: Make no mistake, BB7 is a strong smartphone base but BB10 is a mobile computing base #BBWC
