Prepaid carrier launches promotion to buy consumers out of their existing contracts

Ting, a new mobile phone service provided by Tucows, launched a neat campaign called Dump Your Contract Month. This month-long promotion is made to encourage consumers to break free from their current cell phone contracts and is running until the end of May.

Under the deal, one sweepstakes winner per day will receive compensation for the early termination fees tied to their current cell phone contract, up to $300. There’s a limit of one entry per person, per day, but everyone (U.S. residents aged 18+) can enter once each day for a chance to win. No purchase is needed…

Ting is a prepaid carrier with no contracts, no overage penalties and no hidden fees, with minutes, messages and megabytes each billed separately. What’s more, businesses and families can have a number of different devices on one account and can pool together usage for greater savings. In case you wonder, Ting runs on Sprint’s network…
