RIM announces the BlackBerry Curve 9220, 9320

RIM has officially taken the wraps off of the BlackBerry Curve 9220 and 9320 devices, rumored to be coming soon to the US and UK markets. The Curve 9320 features RIM’s socially-driven BlackBerry OS 7.1, the Curve’s customary 2.44″ 320 x 240 display, a  3.2 megapixel camera, 1,450mAh battery, FM Radio, microSD slot, and QWERTY keyboard. The Curve 9320 stands out from the rest by featuring a hard BBM button on the side of the device, granting Curve 9320 owners quick access to the popular messaging feature.

The Curve 9220 device features largely the same specs as its more expensive brother, which opts for a 2 megapixel camera instead of the 3.2 in the 9320.

We aren’t yet sure which U.S. carriers will pick up either the 9220 or 9320 devices. UK carriers Three and T-Mobile have announced plans to carry the 9320 as a pay-as-you-go device for £140, and T-Mobile will also feature a two-year contract option for £15.50 per month.

Those who don’t want to wait a few more months to get your hands on a BlackBerry 10 device now have two new options for consideration. We’ll bring you more information on a US release once we learn more from US carriers.
