We don’t usually talk about startup funding, but when someone manages to get Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins on its side, it certainly comes to our radar. The name of the company is Drawbridge and it’s founded by former Google and AdMob scientist Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan, who is an expert in machine learning. They’ve raised $6.5 million in Series A funding with the idea to solve the two biggest hurdles in mobile advertising today – targeting and tracking. Drawbridge thinks its self-learning cross-device advertising solution that brings desktop-like targeting to mobile advertising is up to the task.
Drawbridge’s approach to target mobile audiences is said to be unique in its ability to draw from vast amounts of anonymous cross-device data to achieve “extraordinary precision and granularity,” creating a more relevant and personalized experience for users, improved ROI for advertisers, and better monetization for publishers.
Sounds promising and since two of the most famous VC firms are behind the project, something tells me we’ll hear more about Drawbridge in the days and weeks to come…
The new platform is currently in beta, and interested advertisers and publishers can learn more about it from the company’s website.
