Vodafone: Galaxy S III the most pre-ordered Android smartphone ever

Surprise … surprise. The recently announced Samsung Galaxy S III is being proclaimed as “the most pre-ordered Android smartphone ever,” this according to huge United Kingdom mobile network, Vodafone.

Wait, before you roll your eyes over what Vodafone said, you must first remember what Reuters said last week. The news publication reported that Samsung had 9 million pre-orders of its new Galaxy S III. So, this suggest there is some legitimacy to Vodafone’s statement.

A Vodafone spokesperson told The Inquirer that demand for Samsung’s latest flagship Android smartphone has been out of this world since pre-orders started rolling out for Vodafone a week ago.

“We’ve been really encouraged by our customers’ response to the Samsung Galaxy S III.” Also adding, “With over a week to go until launch, it’s already the most pre-ordered Android device we’ve brought into our smartphone line-up to date and our limited time offer of 2GB of mobile data and 100 free music tracks is being snapped up.”

You’d be hard pressed to ignore such an impressive feat like this. The fact that so many people remain interested, even though most tech enthusiast scoffed at the new design — is amazing. That said, we have to keep in mind that these numbers only reflect most of Europe, and not the United States as a whole. We’ll really get an idea of how successful the Galaxy S III will be once it hits stateside.
