China Telecom has finally started its MVNO in the UK, which runs on Everything Everywhere’s network. The service, named CTExcelbiz, marks the first time a Chinese-owned MVNO has operated outside China and is offered on a pay-as-you-go basis.
In terms of clients, China Mobile is targeting Chinese people living in and visiting the UK. In that sense, users get Chinese language voicemail, bilingual Chinese and English customer support, a local Chinese number; as well as unlimited free calls between CTExcelbiz users and low-cost bundles. Moreover, CTExcelbiz also provides its user base with access to a chat application and an information service for travelling around the UK.
If everything goes as planned, the carrier will further expand the service to other European countries… We’ll be definitely following the expansion of Chinese mobile operators and let you know as soon as we hear something interesting. Stay tuned in the meantime.
