Samsung is launching the Samsung Mobile PIN, a pop-up shop that promotes the company’s new flagship device, Galaxy S III, as well as other devices from Samsung’s portfolio. The first such spaces are rolling out in London (from May 29th) at Westfield Shepherd’s Bush and Old Spitalfields Market, and during the summer two additional PINs will be launched in Hyde Park and Olympic Park.
Designed as a “premium pop-up experience space,” Samsung Mobile PIN is a “unique glass-housed engineering marvel” that can be easily moved to different locations. Within the PIN, the furniture has been specially made for showcasing the product experience and for being flexible and expandable to fit perfectly in any location. In that sense, customers will be encourages to “interact with the latest intuitive technology” and to “try out Samsung solutions” with the help of “fully trained staff members.”
I guess this is all part of Samsung’s Olympics marketing strategy, though we do hope other countries will get something similar, as well. We’ll see…
