Kobo is finally upgrading its Android app to make it on par with the iOS application. Version 4.0 introduces noticeable performance improvements (it just feels snappier), while fixing some of the known bugs.
However, the most important change is in the tablet support, making ebook reading on Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich tablets awesome — before this update, it was really nothing special. Moreover, there’s a multiple bookmarks support (dog-ears), ability to share stuff on Facebook, as well as Kobo Pulse integration. The last mentioned feature introduces social networking element within the Kobo app, allowing you to share comments or read others’ opinions on specific chapters or books.
Kobo, which is a Rakuten-owned company, offers compelling book prices, which are usually on par or even lower than Amazon.
