Apple’s WWDC event is right around the corner, and the tech giant is looking to rollout some upgrades to its popular mobile applications. There have been many rumors swirling on the Internet that Apple is looking to push out a totally revamped Maps app. Word is a new Maps application with a “greatly enhanced” version of 3D capability will be unveiled at WWDC later this month. This application will have no ties to Google Maps whatsoever.
Analyst Shaw Wu said Apple believes it can make a better Maps experience then Google. He also indicated how iOS 6 would vastly improve its photos feature within iCloud. “We hear the key reason why AAPL decided to do this is that it believes it can deliver a much better use experience in Maps, not to mention provide further differentiation for its mobile devices business.”
Furthermore, Wu believes the Cupertino based company will improve the camera and photos app so much, that iOS users will not have to rely on any third party apps like Instagram. Any kind of upgrade to the camera and photos app makes perfect sense when you consider the improvements HTC and Samsung have made with theirs on Android. If Apple could only improve their Address Book and default email client, it would be awesome.
