Today is a big day for Samsung — the company’s flagship Galaxy S III handset begins to roll out in the US starting with T-Mobile. In the upcoming weeks, the Galaxy S III will eventually land on five US carriers including AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless and US Cellular. T-Mobile started selling the handset this morning, while Sprint, which was also expected to carry the phone today, has delayed its launch.

T-Mobile will carry the phone on a limited basis this week and will launch the phone nationwide next week. T-Mobile customers looking to grab the S III should visit T-Mobile’s website or call their local store as the phone will be available in select T-Mobile retail locations only.

T-Mobile is selling the 16GB Galaxy S III in Pebble Blue or Marble White for $279.99 with a Classic plan and a $50 mail-in-rebate. The 32GB model is available in the same colors and under the same terms as the 16GB model. It will retail for $329 after a $50 mail-in-rebate.

While T-Mobile customers enjoy their new Galaxy S III, customers on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and US Cellular are still waiting for a launch date. As mentioned above, Sprint was supposed to start selling the handset on June 21st, but has delayed the launch due to inadequate inventory. AT&T and Verizon have not announced a launch date, and US Cellular has said it will carry the phone later this summer.
