Firefox Beta for Android keeps getting better, though it still has a long road to cross the reach the “non-beta” status. In the new version, Mozilla included Flash support and a revamped user interface that should make browsing on a smartphone easier. Then there’s a new start page, as well as “significant performance advancements” under the hood. Find in page is not supported, and it is said that ICS Tegra 2 devices and tablets are not supported in this version. Hopefully, these and some other issues will be resolved quickly.
However, if Mozilla wants to keep up in the mobile browser space, it needs to act faster while at the same time offering more features than its competitors. After getting used to Dolphin Browser, I need to be *really* impressed with some other app to switch boats. I’m sad to say that Firefox for Android still doesn’t deliver the goods. Perhaps it will get better over time but I’m not sure we’ll care after some point…
