The most useful Google+ advice ever: How to quiet Events notifications
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook ( 0 shares )

You’ve probably heard that Google+ now supports Events just like that other popular social network. The problem, however, are email notifications which are super-annoying, to say the least. God forbid someone invites you to an event via Google+, you’ll see the hell unleashing before your eyes.

There are two problems here:

  • Everyone can invite you to an event – good for event organizer, bad for you.
  • You get emails not only when you get an invite, but also for every update and reminder.

This may be cool if you actually care about some event, but (in most cases) if you don’t – you need to add new filters for your email or… turn off email notifications completely.

Luckily, doing this is as simple as it should be. Hit “Settings” in Google+ and uncheck every friggin notification you can live without. As far as I can tell, this should be by default. Notify me when I’m in Google+, don’t clutter my inbox…
