Following up on posts about dropping your iPhone (here) and scratching your iPhone (here), I’ve got a more specific point to raise… scratched bezel!
The metal bezel round the edge of the iPhone is neat touch – looks great, and aesthetically really finishes the device off. But… is yours proper mashed-up with scratches?
As readers will know, I (foolishly) put my iPhone in an O2-approved case, and the net result of that is my bezel is now shredded ( I joke you not) – looks like someone has taken wire wool to it! Interestingly, I saw an iPhone that was BRAND NEW the other day (as in not even taken out of the box), and that had 2 scratches on the bezel already…
This makes me think that the bezel is extremely susceptible to scratching – and I’m not talking deep scratches, more like abrasive damage. OK it’s not the worst thing in the world, but of course in these leaner economic times we are looking to keep handsets longer potentially – and that includes keeping the handset in better condition for longer (I would assume!).
So what’s your experience – hold the iPhone up to any light and you should be able to see if your bezel looks anything like mine – if so, ping us a comment!
(BTW – my back case is beginning to go increasingly “dull” with scratches – not even sure what this is from, since the iPhone is always put on something soft!)
