We’ve already told you Sprint will launch a successor to the Motorola Photon smartphone in the near future. Well a Moto-made device marked with XT897 has been caught at the FCC and we have reasons to believe this is the phone we’ve been telling you about earlier.

As you can imagine, it’s an LTE-enabled handset that is ready to sing along Sprint’s newly built 4G network. Also noted is that it comes with built-in NFC capability, making it ready to handle contactless payments. Moreover, and as we reported earlier, the Photon Q LTE will rock a 720p HD screen, though at the moment we’re not sure about the “inch count.” Guess this and other details will be released as we move closer to launch. In the meantime, you are free to check out the documentation Motorola has filed to the government’s agency from here.
