RIM announced that its BlackBerry App World has topped 3 billion downloads. While the figure is not on par with Google Play and Apple’s AppStore numbers, it’s still pretty impressive and definitely worth bragging about.
It took 786 days to reach the one billion mark, 210 days to reach two billion, and only 176 days to reach the three billion number. On average, that’s about 2.5 million downloads per day. That number, however, doesn’t include just apps and games, and also counts themes and wallpapers.
At present, there are more than 90,000 apps “up for sale” in the App World. RIM emphasized the “up for sale” phrase saying that it’s more tangible than “submitted” and “approved” used by other platforms, most likely referring to Windows Phone…
