Parrot released a new Bluetooth accessory for drivers – MINIKIT Neo, which not only allows you to make and take handsfree phone calls, but also to send emails and text messages, all while keeping your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
Available in September for $99, the new device attaches to the sun visor using the integrated clip, and will offer quite a bang for the buck. It comes with a 360-degree omni-directional microphone, ability to connect two phones at once, extended battery that can work for up to 10 hours in talk or up to 5 months in standby mode, NFC-based pairing and, get this, auto turn off/on capability that detects in-car vibrations to figure out when you got in and when you’re out of the vehicle. Pretty cool.
And that’s not all. Alongside the device, you’ll also get the accompanying mobile app, which works with iPhone and Android-based devices, and which adds few neat capabilities. For instance, there’s find my car feature that remembers the last location where MINIKIT Neo was disconnected from your mobile phone, parking meter reminder, driving time reminder and auto-reply SMS that lets you draft a text message that will be automatically sent when you receive a SMS or refuse a call…
All in all, we’re talking about one of the best car kits we’ve ever seen. And at $99, it will make for an awesome purchase.
