Almost missed this; but it’s important so we’re going with it, even if we’re a bit late…
Samsung sold over 50,000 Galaxy S III units on the launch day in South Korea. This is a record for domestic smartphone sale in the country, presenting twice the sales of its predecessor, the Galaxy S II (24,000 units), and five times the sales of the original Galaxy S (10,000 units).
As you probably know, Koreans have the best version of the Galaxy S III, one that comes with quad-core processor, LTE connectivity AND 2GB of RAM. Again and again I get pissed at Samsung for NOT including an additional gig of RAM in its international version. As we previously heard, 2 gigs make device “future proof” and those living outside of Korea – suckers for getting the Galaxy S III. Please don’t get offended if you own the Galaxy S III cause I’m about to get one for myself, too… though that doesn’t mean I can’t bash Samsung for this “strange” decision…
