While most companies are focused on making iOS, Android and eventually Windows Phone apps, there are still millions of BlackBerry users out there, presenting a significant opportunity for smart companies. Canon thinks it’s the market worth addressing, hence it launched a new mobile printing and scanning app to allow users with a mobile print and scan solution to integrate their BlackBerry smartphones with Canon imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE systems.
The Canon Direct Print and Scan for Mobile app is a combination of two separate applications: multifunctional embedded application platform (MEAP) application that runs on Canon’s imageRUNNER multifunction products (MFP), and a mobile client application that resides on BlackBerry smartphones. The first is available for purchase from Authorized Canon Dealers, while the latter is free to download from the BlackBerry AppWorld (linked below).
