Lara Croft: Guardian of Light is now available for download from Google Play. Unfortunately for most of us, Sony secured exclusive launch rights and at the moment the game is compatible with select PlayStation-certified devices only, including the Xperia Play, Xperia S and Xperia ion. This sort of launch windows usually last for about a month, but you never know. Then again, Square Enix (the game publisher) wants as many users as possible so it’s in their best interest to make the game running on all Android smartphones.

In the game, you’ll be guiding Lara through the jungles of central America in search of the Mirror of Smoke, a powerful artifact from a lost age. Whoever wields this item holds the future of mankind in his hands, with the power to rid the world of light. As the story goes, the Mirror is now in the hands of evil God of Darkness called Xolotl, and you have until sunrise to defeat him or else face the consequences.

Expect fast-paced action/adventure gameplay, awesome graphics, neat puzzles and unlockable weapons, all of which should keep you entertained for hours and hours… Here’s a demo video further enticing you to download (if you have a compatible phone, that is).
