Here’s what the unannounced 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook looks like

There it is, the 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook from RIM. It’s not a mockup; it’s the real deal. Someone from Vietnam got their hands on it and posted it along with a full gallery of other photos in the Tinh te online forum. Nobody knows when or even if RIM will ever launch the 10-inch PlayBook, but at least we know it does in fact exist and a prototype is out in the wild.

Aesthetically, the design is very similar to the 7-inch PlayBook, but its physical size is now closer to that of the 9.7-inch Apple iPad. The display even takes the 4:3 aspect ratio from the iPad, rather than opting for a wider display found on the 7-inch PlayBook as well as most Android tablets.

It’s branded on the side as “BlackBerry 4G PlayBook” so assuming this tablet comes with 4G connectivity is probably a good call. There’s a SIM card slot present too to make the 4G feature possible. Inside, the 10-inch PlayBook is powered by a 7,250 mAh battery.

Will this 10-inch tablet ever see the light of day? Nobody knows. I’d say “except for RIM” but I’m willing to bet even RIM doesn’t know whether they’re going to launch this thing. Perhaps with the 7-inch PlayBook being such a failure, RIM won’t want to bear the shame of another embarrassment. On the other hand, at this point, RIM doesn’t really have a whole lot left to lose. Time will tell.

Check out the Tinh te thread for the full set of photos.
