The 4G PlayBook will become a reality next week, according to RIM’s official Inside BlackBerry blog. The oft-rumored PlayBook with 4G LTE connectivity will be making its debut on August 9th, though only our Canadian readers to the north will be able to initially get their hands on RIM’s latest tablet. The LTE PlayBook will come loaded with 32 GB of storage, PlayBook OS 2.0.1., a 7-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP camera on the back capable of 1080p HD video recording, a 3MP camera on the front,

No word on pricing was given, and we hope that RIM chooses not to price themselves out of the market on this one. After all, they need the PlayBook to sell well if they’re to turn the company around.

If you’re not convinced why you need a 4G PlayBook, RIM has offered up 4 reasons why you must purchase a playbook on their blog. It all boils down to speed, portability, enhanced web browsing, and multimedia (TV/Movies), but will it be enough to get customers in the door? I guess we’ll find out next week.
