After few delays, Huawei will finally launch the Ascend D Quad in late August, starting with China. The smartphone that uses Chinese company’s own quad-core CPU was originally announced in February during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and ever since gathered interest from mobile fans all around the world.

Aside from the powerful processor, it also comes with a 4.5-inch IPS HD screen, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel BSI rear-facing camera, HSPA/LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and so on. In addition to the “regular” model, Huawei will also release the D Quad XL which comes with a bigger battery (2,600 mAh).

It’s unclear how much the phone will cost though we hope it’s more affordable than HTC’s and Samsung’s top models (One X and Galaxy S III). We’ll see…
