Motorola schedules an event for Sept 5 in NYC, promises ‘the day’s main event’

September is shaping into being quite an interesting month. Motorola has sent us an invitation to an event the manufacturer is holding on September 5 in New York. If this date sounds familiar it’s for a good reason, as it’s the same date Nokia his holding its event. The Google subsidiary owned company took a shot a Nokia, by promising it’ll be “the day’s main event.” This is some big talk, especially when it’s widely expected that the Finnish company will unveil a major Windows Phone 8 device. So that statement is either incredibly stupid, or a possible indication to something special.

Who knows, maybe Motorola plans to take the wraps off the Droid RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD that’s been circling the web for weeks. Anyway, to make bold statements like the company just did, we had better see something worth talking about because a MOTOACTV 2 won’t cut it.

What do you think Motorola has planned for September 5?
