WMPoweruser is a popular site for Windows Phone fans, so it only makes sense that people with Windows Phone handsets visit the site regularly. The site recently scanned its log files and found evidence of several Windows Phone 8 handsets in the wild. This isn’t surprising as Microsoft is slated to release Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 later this year.
What is interesting is the variety of carriers that are hosting these Windows Phone 8 handsets. Thus far, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are well-represented. Also, Elisa in Finland and Charter in the US show up in the log files. The largest omission is Sprint which hasn’t been spotted in the logs. This could be a sign that Sprint is going to wait on Windows Phone and watch how it performs before embracing the platform. Then again, this is only one website and we still have some time before Windows Phone 8 debuts.
