Sprint issues minor update to Samsung Epic 4G Touch, brings battery life enhancements

Sprint is currently issuing out a minor over-the-air (OTA) update to the phone with perhaps the longest name in history, the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch. The OTA update, also known by its technical name of software build D710.10S.FH13, is supposed to address one simple thing: battery life enhancement.

Battery life is easily one of my most coveted features or necessities when it comes to picking a smartphone. The point is, if you can’t pull at least an eight-hour work day out of your device then something is wrong with it. One thing I know for sure is how abysmal the battery life on the Epic 4G Touch is, and how worse its gotten after the update to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). My fiance can barely pull a work day out of it. So getting whatever kind of battery juice out of your battery is a definite must.

Anyway, if you haven’t received your update, then try to get it manually by paying a quick trip to your phone’s Settings menu and hitting About Phone followed by Software Update.

For those of you out there who have received your update, tell us if you see any noticeable changes in battery life?
