Is LG teasing us with the Snapdragon S4 Pro-toting Optimus G?

It was only a couple of days ago that we caught wind of what could be LG’s most powerful Android smartphone to date. That smartphone would be the Optimus G, which packs in just about any high-end spec you could want in a handset today. Well now, without saying names, LG is teasing one of its upcoming handsets that will be rocking the much-anticipated Snapdragon S4 Pro.

Of course, the handset being teased could be something we completely different from the recently rumored Optimus G, as the official mini site for the device just mentions it as a ‘second-generation quad-core’ device. Still, we’d hedge our bets that this upcoming smartphone and the Optimus G are one and the same. We hope so, at least. If not, then we’ll have two ridiculously powerful devices to look forward to.

The recently leaked specs of the mystery device have it rocking a quad-core Snapdragon CPU, 4.7 inch 720p True HD IPS display, 13 megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, LTE support, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset looks to be taking aim at Samsung’s Galaxy S III and shutter bugs looking for a nice camera with their smartphone. Whether or not we’ll see the handset soon is still up for question but the mini site, along with the video below will give us something to look over while we wait.

The video’s description on YouTube says the following (using Google Translate):

“Existing quad-core compared to more than 40 percent and improved CPU performance, more than three times the enhanced graphics, which boasts the most power efficient, strongest LTE phone powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation quad-core LG Electronic you soon find goes.”
