We know Intel won’t give up on the mobile space that easily even though it still struggles to convince major companies to make smartphones using Atom-based chips. So far we’ve seen few devices rocking Intel’s Atom Z2460 processor — including the Lava XOLO X900, Orange San Diego and Lenovo K800 — and now Russia’s mobile operator MegaFon is joining the party with its own-branded device called the Mint.

Specs wise, it seems almost identical to other smartphones listed above, rocking a 4.03-inch 600×1024 pixels touchscreen, 1.6 GHz single-core Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel front-facing one, 16GB of built-in storage, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth and a 1,460 mAh battery. Sadly Android 2.3 Gingerbread rather than Ice Cream Sandwich is running the show.

As for the price, MegaFon is asking 17,990 rubles for the Mint, which translates into some $565 or 455 EUR, whatever works for you…
