Samsung used IFA as a springboard to announce the Galaxy Note II. The next generation phone-tablet will feature a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1280×720 resolution, a 1.6GHZ Exynos quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 1.9-megapixel web cam. It’ll be slightly thinner and slightly heavier than the original Note, due in part to the 3,100 mAh battery. Connectivity options include HSPA+ (21Mbps), LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi.
Samsung also overhauled the S-Pen in the Note II, improving both the pen itself and the software that accompanies it. The phone-tablet will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and will be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities. It will land in Europe first, with a US launch planned for later this year.
